Differente evaluation techniques in a changing world

Bicycles are for Summer
  • Middle Years Programme (MYP)
In the framework of the Language and Literature course, DP1 students were able to demonstrate how learning of and understanding of the book “Bicycles are for Summer” can be measured in a theatrical performance.
They were invited to develop creative thinking, as well as oral communication and analytical skills. The criteria evaluated here were the comprehension and analysis of the play, as well as the creative contribution by the scenography, the costumes and the characterization of the characters.
The learning principle 3 as part of the ACE protocol by NEASC says that evaluation measures the effect of learning on the learner. Evaluation for, of and as learning includes both qualitative and quantitative criteria.
